Yesterday was my friend Paul's birthday. He and his roommate Derek are great friends, former missionary companions (served in Tucson, AZ), and current home teaching companions (they teach me and my roommates). One thing they share in common is a love of puns.

I have always liked puns, but being around these guys has made me really love puns. So...for Paul's birthday, I decided to make him a card based on a pun and give him a list of puns I found on the internet.

The card went something like this (with illistrations and fun lettering Ü):
So it was my birthday. I had a big party, and my friend made me a birhtday cake. He brought it out, and it was a savory cake. It had a doughy base with cheese and all sorts of toppings sprinkled on top. I said, "That must have taken a lot of effort to make." And he said...

(then on the inside...)
... "No, it was a pizza cake."

Heee heeee heeee! Ü

A couple of my favorites:
* A rubber band pistol was confiscated from algebra class because it was a weapon of math disruption.
* He said I was average - but he was just being mean.
* When the smog lifts in Los Angeles, U C L A.

Mike and I received shirts for our birthday and had a request to post them. So here they are. Mike with his Wisconsin Sponge Bob and me with Napoleon Dynamite's shirt. Let me just add that "Pedro offers you his protection"!

The local bar was so sure that its bartender was the strongest man around that they offered a standing $1000 bet: The bartender would squeeze a lemon until all the juice ran into a glass, and hand the lemon to a patron. Anyone who could squeeze one more drop of juice out would win the money.

Many people had tried over time (professional wrestlers, longshoremen, etc.), but nobody could do it.

One day this scrawny little man came in, wearing thick glasses and a polyester suit, and said in a tiny, squeaky voice, "I'd like to try the bet."

After the laughter had died down, the bartender agreed, grabbed a lemon, and squeezed away. Then he handed the dried, wrinkled remains of the rind to the little man.

But the crowd's laughter turned to total silence as the man clenched his fist around the lemon and SIX drops fell into the glass.

As the crowd cheered, the bartender paid the $1000, and asked the little man, "What do you do for a living? Are you a lumberjack, a weight lifter, or what?"

The man replied, "I work for the IRS."

Hee hee hee! ?ú

This gave Daniel and I an idea for next Easter...

Joseph and Michael have refilled their aquarium. They promptly added a needlenose fish which eats...well...fish. Here is a movie clip of the feeding this morning...(you need quicktime to view the movie-just click on the picture)

I'm never very good at recording the cool little things that happen with my little kids...posting this should help.

So I was in my bedroom the other day putting on my shoes. I see Adam pass by the room enroute to his room. I say "Hey Adam! How are you doing?". He continues to walk by to his room saying nothing. A few moments later he comes back by this time with his blanket and pillow in tow and as he passes by my door he says "fine."

Glad to know he listens!
